Calling it a case study might be considered overkill but it sounds good so we went with it... Case Studies are examples of our work where we were faced with a unique problem and we found a solution to best suit the needs of our client.
GOMHER.org
We were contacted by a group of Marine Ecologist who wanted a Web site to display all the dams in the state of Maine. They wanted the Web site to have unique features such as an interactive map, a method for uploading an already existing database of dams, and an easy way to edit dam listing and upload photos. Below is a list and explanation of the solutions Toucan Media Group provided to meet the needs of GOMHER.

Custom Map Application
The primary way users can access information on a particular dam is by using an interactive map and clicking on an icon that represents the dam they are interested in. Toucan Media Group wrote a custom Web application using Google Maps to accomplish this. The Map Application automatically plots the location of each dam on the map using the latitude and longitude.Visit this Example
Comparison Application
The purpose of GOMHER.org is to visually represent that over time the construction of river dams has diminished fish population at sea. Toucan Media Group constructed a system for for users to compare maps that show the number of dams versus the fish population at sea.Visit this Example
